How do we achieve this goal?

Research indicates that to effect a change in attendance in high schools, we should:

• Create a safe and personalized environment
• Offer career counseling and curriculum options
• Set examples with our attendance/tardiness
• Intervene early and Reward good performance
• Be consistent

Remind your students of the attendance policy, often…

10 unexcused absences per year, 5 per semester

They can be ‘x’ed out of a particular class.

1st period must be completed by 8:00 am so that the data can be input into the computer.  Our SchoolReach phone system will be used to contact parents of absent students.
